I’ve been to Milan several times as a transportation hub, but had never actually been out and about in the city. Adena and I said ciao to Cortona and drove our rental car to the Milan airport, and dropped our
freight luggage off at a hotel airport, which was really convenient. Then we quickly hopped on the train to go into Milano central to take in a few sites with the few remaining hours of the day. I’m not usually a fan of malls, but this one definitely takes the cake.
The highlight was the Milano Cathedral. It’s enormity cannot be overstated and we went inside while a service was taking place, which was neat. We saw the edge of the Expo and tasted a panzerotti from Luini’s. Then hopped back on the train for our last cheese plate in Italy (this trip) and sank into our comfy beds before the epic travel day home that followed.
